Project Description

This is a high aerial shot of the Yarranlea Solar Farm showing the breakdown in blocks of the sections of panels and the service roads that are built around to acess them.

Yarranlea Solar Farm – Pittsworth, QLD

The Yarranlea Solar Farm covers approximately 250ha and will have a generation capacity of approximately 134 megawatts DC (102.5 MW AC) – sufficient to power up to 32,000 homes. It is situated about 50 kilometres west of Toowoomba, in SE Queensland. The project called for the installation of 372,833 solar PV modules installed on single-axis tracking arrays.

Connection to the general electricity network will be via the new 33/110Kv Yarranlea Solar Farm substation, connecting in to the existing Ergon Energy infrastructure, adjacent to the site. When complete, the Yarranlea Solar Farm will provide clean, renewable energy to homes and businesses in the Darling Downs Region.

Monford was head contractor for the project, which was built for Risen Australia. The project was completed Safely, in budget, and ahead of schedule.
