Project description
The Cunderdin Solar Farm Project is a 128 MW DC photovoltaic solar system developed on the outskirts of Cunderdin, planned over 165ha which includes a 55 MW / 220 MWh battery energy storage system. The project is expected to generate 200GWh electricity to offset 145,000t of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions annually.
Scope of work
As a principal EPC contractor for the Cunderdin Solar Farm, Monford Group delivered all civil, mechanical and electrical works, including:
• Project Management and governance
• Engineering and Procurement
• Demolition of existing site structures
• Drainage and erosion control management
• Security
• Logistics
• Earthworks
• Constructing internal access roads
• Piling for tracking systems and structures
• Surveying
• Mechanical installation of Company free issued items such as Battery Energy Storage System skids (BESS), HV Transformer and MVPS Inverters
• Standby power for BESS HVAC as required.
• Installation of tracking system and photovoltaic modules
• Trenching & installation of DC and AC circuits for Solar Farm
• Construction of Substation
• Electrical installation including earthing and SCADA
• Metering system and Communication towers installation
• HV Connection / battery limit interfaces to Western Power asset
• Commissioning (Cold and Hot)
• Site clean-up and hand over to Company
• As builts
• OEM Training
